Dominoes team to consist of 8 players, i.e. 4 different pairs
5’s & 3’s team to consist of 6 players, i.e. 3 different pairs, who do not have to be different to dominoes team players.
Away team should play first and then alternate. - POINTS
Darts 1 point for each game (Total 7 points)
Dominoes 1½ points for each game and 1 point for the aggregate (Total 7 points)
5’s & 3’s 2 points for each game (3 games of 91 up) and 1 point for aggregate (Total 7 points) - START OF A MATCH Games to commence at 8.30pm prompt, except all Pairs, team cup semi-fianl & final matches start at 8.00pm. Each house must have at least 4 players. i.e. 2 players for dominoes, 1 player to play darts and 1 player to score darts. The home team is to sign in first. All players must sign in before a game and the game may be forfeited if a player forgets to sign in and refuses to do so later. If a team turns up with only 7 players (i.e. they are short of 1 player for dominoes) then they should notify the opposing team Captain as soon as possible that this is the case. The names of all the players from that team should be put into a hat and one name drawn at random to make up the last pair. A note of the fact that this has happened should be written on the top of the score card.
- DARTS MATCHES Each game is based on 501 straight start and double finish. Outer bull counts 25, inner bull counts 50. All games to be played on a standard board. Players will throw from a measured and marked line of 7′9¼”. Throwers must not step over the toe line until all of their darts have been thrown. If they continue to do so after being warned by an opposing Captain, the score for that particular throw will not count (no score will be called). Only one person i.e. the Captain or her deputy should tell the thrower the score or how to obtain a finish. Double one rule will apply when both players have reached double one. When the second player to reach double one has had two sets of darts to the boards, at this stage all darts count. Scorers must subtract when recording scores, otherwise by mutual agreement. A “Chalky” may be used, but a written record must also be kept. During a darts game, the person not throwing must stand behind the throwing line.
- DOMINOES Dominoes to be played with clean unmarked dominoes. Games are played in pairs. Both players on one side to chip out or lowest count in both hands of a pair win the game. The match is won when a pair reaches 5 games. Any player who plays a wrong domino (i.e. one that will not go at either end), knocking when she can go, or going out of turn may forfeit the game, but it is up to the players concerned regarding this rule. Captains may intervene if they notice it is not being played to the rules. If an outsider interferes in a game of dominoes the dominoes should be reshuffled and that game restarted, should a domino be turned over accidentally, the dominoes should be reshuffled. Games should be claimed immediately the offence occurs and not at the end of the game.
- 5’s & 3’s To be played with clean unmarked dominoes. Games are played in pairs, first pair to reach 91 wins the game. One point for chip/count at the end of each drop. If a wrong domino etc., is played 8 points may be deducted from the offending pairs score. If they do not have 8 points to deduct, following scores will not count until 8 points have been deducted. The 5’s & 3’s marker board should be visible to all 4 players. Captains may intervene if they notice it is not being played according to the rules. If an outsider interferes in a game of dominoes the dominoes should be reshuffled and be restarted. Should a domino be turned over accidentally, the dominoes should be reshuffled.
- GAMES GIVEN AWAY If one game of darts, dominoes or 5’s & 3’s is given away, that game will be forfeited and the points awarded to the other team. If a team gives two games away on one night they will be called in front of the Committee, and points decided by the Committee. If a team give away a total of seven points from the start of the season, they will be called in front of the Committee. If they give a valid reason, they will be allowed to stay in the league. If a valid reason is not given the team will be asked to resign from the league. All teams giving points away during the season will have to be re-elected to the league at the next A.G.M.
- SCORE CARDS Score cards to be checked and signed by both sets of Captains. A score of 180 to be recorded on the reverse side of the darts scorecard and signed by both darts Captains.
- DRAWING OUT OF PLAYERS FOR DOMINOES Only 1 player can be drawn out. If a team only has 6 players then a game must be given away. This “drawing out” rule was brought in for emergency situations and was not meant to allow any team to register with the league knowing they would not have enough players. The situation of drawing out will be monitored and anyone felt, by the Committee, to be abusing the situation will be asked to explain their reasons and the Committee will decide on any appropriate action. Players should notify their domino Captain if they are unable to attend a match. On arrival at the match the Captain should notify the other team that they are, or may be, a player short. The drawing out should take place at this time. In the draw should be the NAMES OF ALL PLAYERS present from the team who are a player short. The opposing domino Captain should draw the name out. IT MUST BE STATED ON THE SCORECARD THAT ‘DRAWING OUT’ HAS OCCURRED. If for some reason the draw cannot take place at the beginning of the evening, for example you are expecting a player to turn up who doesn’t, then the draw should take place no later than the end of the second game of dominoes and common-sense should prevail in these circumstances. i.e. it could be the only instance when 2 people who are playing the third game of dominoes do not feature in the draw, as if one of them were pulled out to play the last game of dominoes, the game would not be able to be played until they had finished their game, making it a longer night. COMMON-SENSE is the order of the day in these situations and the teams are expected to be up-front and honest with the opposing team if they are EXPECTING to be a player short.
- KNOCK OUTS AND PENTATHLON Only pairs that have won their heat are eligible to play in the finals. If someone cannot make the finals they cannot be replaced by another pair. Drawing out rule does not apply in these games.
DOMINOES To be played in the following sequence unless amicably agreed by both captains.
1st Domino pair with 5’s & 3’s pair
2nd Domino pair with 5’s & 3’s pair
3rd Domino pair with 5’s & 3’s pair
Final Domino pair for decider
5’s & 3’s These games will be 61 up best of 3.
